SARGAKSHETRA


Sargakshetra is a unique platform in St. Thomas Apostolic Seminary to
grow in Gospel values through artistic expressions. It focuses on the
revival of our traditional Christian art forms and also promotes the
talents inherent in the seminarians. The motto itself speaks volumes
on the intention of this broad platform. The motto of Sargakshetra is
to grow in Gospel values through art.
The inauguration of sargakshetra was on July 2, 2017. The members of
sargakshetra dance team performed 'chavittu nadakam', a unique art
form of the Syro-Malabar Christian tradition.



St. Thomas Day Cultural Academy


The Dukhrana of St. Thomas, the Apostle and cultural academy were held on 3rd July 2017. Dr. Johny Lukose, the news director of Manorama news presided over the function of the academy. He enlightened the audience with his sharing of thoughts and visions. The meeting began with a prayer, followed by the welcoming address by Br Mathukutty Tharappil. There were two stirring speeches delivered by Brs. Amal Mathrickal and Rony Puthenveettil on the mission of St. Thomas, the Apostle. The meeting concluded with words of gratitude by Br. Jeril Kuzhinjalil.

Feast of Mar Ephrem and Inauguration of the Cultural Academy






The Feast of Mar Ephrem and the inauguration of the cultural academy were held on 9th June 2017. Dr. Sr. Noel Rose CMC, a well-known speaker and promoter of Christian feminist ideas, presided over the function of the academy. She enlightened the audience with her sharing of thoughts and visions. The meeting began with a prayer, followed by the welcoming address by Fr Baby Karintholil. There were two stirring speeches delivered by Brs. Thomas Kizhakkeveettil and Philip Muttumannil on Art and Literature and the Relevance of Mar Ephrem in the Present-day Context respectively. The meeting concluded with words of gratitude by Br. Joseph

Inauguration of the Academic year 2017-2018









His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alencherry, the Major Archbishop and Chancellor of Paurastya Vidyāpīṭham inaugurated the academic year 2017-2018 on 3rd June 2017 by lighting the traditional ‘nilavilaku’.  Very Rev. Fr. Joy Ainiyadan, the Rector of the Seminary welcomed the gathering.   His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alencherry addressed the staff and students of PVP.   His talk was inspiring and thought provoking.  Rev. Fr. Andrews Mekkattukunnel, the President of PVP, presented the dynamics of the academic year.  The programme concluded with the Schola Brevis by Rev Fr. Linto Kuttikadan of the Philosophy Department.  The theme of the schola brevis was “The doctrine of the Trinity; the relevance of a philosophical analysis”.
